Stewart | Washmuth | Sollars Landscape Architecture, Inc. offers clients a wide range of services, from evaluating zoning constraints to conceptual site plan design, to meeting with contractors on site during construction. We enjoy working closely with our clients and believe that the best results come through clear and proactive collaboration. Please review our provided services below.
Consultation + Due Diligence
Before design work ever begins, our team performs thorough research in an effort to identify any opportunities and/or constraints that may lay ahead. From reviewing local codes to visiting the site, we believe that performing these inventory + analyses are critical steps in the design process. Though there are common due diligence exercises performed on every project, our firm has the ability to create a due diligence exercise that fits your needs. Below are common due diligence services provided:
Site Inventory + Analysis
Code + Zoning + Permitting Review
Conceptual Design + Master Planning
Upon identifying the site’s strengths and challenges, pens and markers are put to paper and the creativity comes alive. With client input, SWSLA brainstorms and lays out the design concept, beginning with vague shapes and sweeping lines that highlight spatial interactions and circulation. These plans quickly evolve into refined renderings that form a functional and beautiful space. These ideas become the consistent theme carried throughout the design as we prepare Construction Drawings. Common components of a conceptual design package include:
Spatial + Functional Diagrams
Conceptual Renderings (plan view, elevations, etc.)
Character + Materials + Landscape Galleries
3-D Animation
3-D animation has proven to be a beneficial modeling tool for the design industry. Whether our clients are looking for massing models to evaluate a site’s capabilities or are looking for something intricate to review finished products, SWSLA can customize a package to meet our clients’ needs. Having the capability to put our clients in the space provides comfort in knowing that the final product will align with their vision before the ground is ever broken. Common animation services provided:
Massing Models (height evaluation + spatial design)
Still Images (Right)
Animated Fly Throughs
Construction Documentation
Construction Documentation is the backbone of the design process and assures our clients that their project is progressing in alignment with their conceptual vision, construction industry standards and local governing agency requirements. From local code-required plans to elaborately detailed finishes, SWSLA can provide our clients with the plans needed to build their project. Common Construction Document Sets include:
Code Required Plans
Bid Sets + Opinions of Probable Construction Costs
Signed and Sealed Construction Documents
Bid Procurement
Bid procurement is the process of obtaining pricing quotes for all aspects of project construction, and typically runs concurrent with the production of construction documents. SWSLA can help coordinate and answer any questions that clients or contractor related-services may have. Once pricing quotes have been confirmed, the design team coordinates a pricing review to determine if the project is in a good position to move forward. Upon acceptance of a construction contract, the project is then scheduled to break ground! Common bid procurement services include:
Request For Proposals (RFP) to Contractors
Proposal Review
Client + Contractor Liaison
Construction Administration + Observation
As project construction begins, SWSLA is there to answer any questions that clients or contractors may have. We visit the site regularly in coordination with the design team to ensure design alignment, with all design details being constructed and installed per plan. At the end of construction, we perform punch list walk-throughs and issue necessary documentation for project completion. Common construction administration services include:
Site Visits + Field Reports
Construction + Progress Photos
Client + Construction Coordination
